Hopefully a quick one..
When running Get-Mailbox for a specific user, what exactly does the 'server name' field mean? If i take a bunch of users and run this command, it lists either of the two servers within our DAG but there doesn't seem to be a pattern for which. e.g. user 1 shows server 1 despite the database that it is stored on currently being active on server 2. I'm not sure what it is meant to mean?
I'm having an issue that a number of people seem to be having when creating new mailbox databases in Exchange 2010. Every time I create a new mailbox database I get a warning that says.
WARNING: An error occurred while trying to prepopulate newly created mailbox "/o=company/ou=ExchangeAdministrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=SystemMailbox{77886baa-b137-443a-b266-c1d935efc1e3}" in database "DB03" on server "MBX1". I know a number of posts have been made on this but they all seem to deal with a second message that happens if you have the Mount Database box checked. I've already stopped checking that box and just manually mount the database after a couple of minutes but I'd like to know about this specific warning and if I need to be concerned about it or if there's something I can do so that it doesn't come up anymore.
We are using Exchange 2010 SP2 RU4v2 and I have two mailbox servers in a DAG. I can provide any other information necessary. Thanks for any and all help.
Dear All,
I am in the process of Export the mailboxes to PST from exchange server 2007 and trying to run the following command from windows 7 workstation with Exchange management console installed.
Get-Mailbox -Database PNU-EXMB\StudentSG\studentDB | Export-Mailbox -EndDate "10/14/2012" -TargetFolder D:\PSTs
We want to Export the mailboxes to PST from a database name studentDB with time filtering suppose it should export the mailboxes from beginning to lets say October 14, 2012. When I run the above command, it asks me the name of Target Mailbox. We are exporting all the mailboxes to a Target Folder and not in the target mailbox. Please guide me what will be the value of the Target mailbox. Kindly see the snapshot for reference.
I have searched many related blogs and topics and tried many things but still cannot figure out why one particular calendar will not show any information. Here is my issue:
When I go into Outlook 2010, and try to schedule a meeting I can add myself and anyone else in the company and see their schedules. If I add any one of the conference rooms I also see the free busy information, except for one conference room. Our marketing conference room will show the black and white slashes that go with No Information. I have tried changing the permissions on the calendar, I have added the Outlook profile to my computer, opened Outlook as that calendar, then closed and ran the outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy command. I am able to use the scheduling assistant and see the information while I am logged in as the calendar, but not as myself. No one else in the company can see the free busy information either when using their Outlook 2010 client.
If I add the calendar to my calendars list I can see every meeting no problem. Also using OWA, I can see the free busy information without issue.
We are running Exchange 2010 Version: 14.01.0421.002 on a Windows Server 2008 SP1 R2 Standard box. I am sure I have left out information that will be needed and I apologize in advance. Any help resolving this issue is greatly appreciated.
We installed rollup pack 4 for exchange 2010 sp2, but not the V2 update so am now keen to install rollup pack 5 for 2010 Sp2. Is anybody aware of any issues with it?

Hi,
I have 4 Exchange Servers 2010 SP1 in my environment (2 CAS/Hub and 2 Mailbox servers) and the users use Outlook 2010 updated.
A strange problem occurs with a user:
- all received invite are forward to a secretary. There is no rule in his Outlook 2010 to do that and, in Exchange 2010, there is no Transport Rule configured to do that too.
The user´s calendar was shared but, I believe, a share does note send a copy of receive invites to another users.
Is there a way to check if a problem withe the mailbox is ocurring?
I am avoiding to recreate the Outlook profile for while.
If anyone can help me I appreciate.
Thanks for while.

Got a small environment of Windows 2008 R2 STD with Exchange 2010 installed. We have migrated to a hosted exchange solution and want to uninstall Exchange 2010 the "right" way by going through Add/Remove. It is not letting me stating public folder replicas (see error below). I have manually removed everything from the default and system public folders in the EMC. I have tried to remove the database by going to EMC->MS Exchange On Premises->Organization Configuration->Mailbox under tab database management and get the same error.
--------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Exchange Error -------------------------------------------------------- The public folder database 'Public Folder Database 1191584386' cannot be deleted. Public Folder Database 1191584386 Failed Error: The public folder database "Public Folder Database 1191584386" contains folder replicas. Before deleting the public folder database, remove the folders or move the replicas to another public folder database. For detailed instructions about how to remove a public folder database, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=81409&clcid=0x409.
I have some groups which I would like the Group Managers to modify group membership.
I've followed the following procedure to allow them to modify the group membership but not create new or delete groups:
This procedure essentially you create a new management role based on "My Distribution Groups", but you take away the ability to create or delete groups.
But even after doing so, Group Managers cannot modify group membership. What am I missing here?
They get the following: Changes to Public Group Membership Cannot be Saved. You do not have sufficient permission...

Hi All,
Strange problem that I can't seem to get to the bottom of.
On a couple of users, about 10/100, can't seem to download the Offline Address Book. When they do a manual Download Address Book through Send/Receive Group, the progress window will remain at about 5% and the status will show "Copying Offline Address Book Template File". If I leave the window, it will be the same for a couple of hours without erroring out.
We have a casarray set up, forced the ports to 59595 and 59596 for the address book as mentioned the guide. We are not doing SSL redirect on the Virtual Directory. Test-AutoConfiguration from Outlook returns the correct entries. Works for most users but not all.
On the users that do not work, I've tried deleting the users profile, deleting the Outlook Directory under AppData. Sometimes, magically (for a lack of a better word), if I check the Offline Address Book Directory a few days later, there are files there. If I then do a manual Download, same thing, the progress bar will be stuck.
Puzzling as I'm not quite sure what else to check.
All clients are on Windows 7 and Outlook 2010.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave K

Does anyone have any clue what has happend to Exchange 2010 SP2 Update Rollup 5?
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/240.exchange-server-and-update-rollups-build-numbers.aspx lists it as KB2719800 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2719800 but visiting this page just gives me a "Oops, the page you are looking for may have a new location or may no longer be available".
There is also an update KB2727802 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2727802 that has 'dissapeared'. It appears that I need this update as I'm experiencing problems moving mailboxes from Ex 2003 - 2010 with the Mailbox Replication Service constantly crashing as follows:
Watson report about to be sent for process id: 8636, with parameters: E12, c-RTL-AMD64, 14.02.0318.004, MSExchangeMailboxReplication, M.Exchange.MailboxReplicationService, M.E.M.MoveBaseJob.<BeginJob>b__c, System.NullReferenceException, 3b8, 14.02.0318.004.
Any ideas??
Hi, I have a 3 server DAG system. All three servers have the Hub Transport, Mailbox and Client Access roles installed. Two servers are here at the main office and the third is at our co-location site on a different subnet. The DAG replication works fine.
I noticed that I cannot connect Outlook to the server at the colocation site. In order to test I put a CAS entry into my local hosts file that matches the server I want to connect to. The two servers at the main office work fine but the third server fails and Outlook asks for the Exchange server name and mailbox. I can telnet to port 135 on the server that fails.
Anyone have any ideas on where to start to figure out why the server fails?
Thanks
hi guys,
i read that CAS array is not for internet user (OWA). what about internet user who are using outlook 2010? is it consider rpc over http? Does CAS array work for rpc over http?
If CAS array is useless for internet users, how do i configure HA for CAS?
Thanks.
The History of my Moverequests that can be queried using get-mailboxstatistics is deleted after a certain time.
The question is: When is Movehistory data deleted from the Mailbox. Is there a certain time? Is it deleted after deleting the Moverequest?
Thank you for your answers

Hi Guys,
New to these forums, but i've been a lurker for a while. They have helped me alot in my work.
But for once (and the first ever time), i can't find an answer to an issue i have.
I am currently migrating to Exchange Server 2010 from 2003. (Seperate servers).
I installed Exchange 2010 on the new server, and setup the mail flow connector to 2003 etc.
I ballsed it up, and ran into numerous issues. I decided to follow http://www.windowsitpro.com/article/exchange-server/How-to-Uninstall-a-Stubborn-Exchange-Server-103660 to fully uninstall exchange, as i had no access at all to powershell, it was completely screwed.
So anyway, now i am getting this error when trying to reinstall Exchange 2010.
Hub Transport Role

Any ideas?
Would it just be easier to scrap the server and rebuild a new complete OS? It's virtualised so easy enough. If so, can you guide me on the prerequisites please?
Thankyou.
