Certificate issues, why does my self signed internal superseed external?

Good afternoon

Ok my company has asked me to fix a certificate issue with their internal OWA.

I've created, installed and enabled a self signed certificate called owa.ad2.ad.company.com which is the internal address for OWA (well, we use the shortname OWA/OWA but the server as a whole is called owa.ad2.ad.company.com)

There is an activesync certificate called mobile.ad.company.com which was purchased. It's using IIS services

There is an external certificate called email.ad.company.com which was purchased. It's using POP services

There is a self signed autodiscover certificate called autodiscover.ad.company.com. It's using IIS.

When I enable my self signed it works fine however one of the other services stops. It's sporadic which service, last night activesync shut down, this morning external access shut down.

If I enable the existing certificates the internal site picks up the external certificate so reports it's intended for another site.

Any suggestions? I did Google this and look at the suggestions posted here, one looked a similiar fault to my own however remained unsolved.

I can't have everyone route outside for OWA access, and it would be a challange changing the internal URL.

Thanks
