We are experiencing problems with OWA on our Exchange 2010 server approximately every 2 weeks.
The winHTTP web proxy auto-discovery service does it's periodic stop/start on a regular basis, but about every 2 weeks or so, it stops and does not restart. This brings our OWA down.
At first, the only solution we had was to restart the Exchange server, but this isn't a viable option. Now that we've narrowed down the culprit (or so it seems), we will try restarting the WAPD service to see if that resolves the problem without rebooting the entire server the next time the WAPD service goes down without restarting..
However, this is still not a real solution, only a work-around.
We do NOT use a proxy server or any specific proxy configuration on our IE clients.
