We run Exchange 2010 SP2.
2 physical MB servers,
2 virtual Hub Transport, 2 virtual CAS servers and 2 virtual Edge servers.
The SAN (where all of our mailbox DB's are) is getting a firmware update and we lose the disks for a bit.
From the exchange perspective, I just want to play it safe.
I'm planning on dismounting the DB's, and disabling the Exchange services on the 2 MB servers.
Once the SAN work is done, I plan on re-booting the each server (to make sure the SAN drives are all back and connected), and re-starting the Exchange services and mounting the DB's.
Does this sound reasonable, or should I also be concerned about the windows NLB or anything?
We do maintenance often, but having to turn the whole thing off is new.
