Hi, I'm looking for a logic sanity check if I may please, with regard to multiple HubTransport Servers:
I'll try to avoid jibber-jabber and keep to nuts n bolts: In this 2 site organisation, all mail is relayed to an external smarthost, who in turn sends the messages onto the public internet.
1) Is it best practice to associate 4 HT servers (split over 2 AD sites) to use the same outbound SMTP send connector? I understand that through HT communication, they can automatically locate the first associated server, but thinking from a resilliancy (and performance) POV, it would make sense to associate all.
2) I would then need to provide the IP addresses of all HT servers to the organisation in which we relay to, as potentially, their relaying smarthost would receive messages from all of the HT servers.
It makes logical sense to me, but just wanted some feedback.
Thanks for your time.
