Hello, i received a call from one of our traveling staff about his Global Address List being out of date. After investigating i have found that the OAB is not updating correctly for staff running in cached mode. Non cached users see the fully updated Global Address List. Environment is a Windows Server 2008, Exchange 2010 SP1, client is running Windows 7 with Outlook 2007.
I have tested from a computer inside the network as well and while when i run a manual sync from Outlook (Tools - Send/Receive - Download Address Book) it says completed successfully, it still shows some accounts that have since been deleted as well as missing some newly created accounts.
From the Exchange server i have gone to Organization Configuration - Mailbox - Offline Address Book and ran a manual update as well as verified that Web based distribution is enabled. The schedule is set to run at 4am daily.
Is there some step I am missing as to why it wont update?
