Can't Receive emails and cell phones can't connect to server

I'm new to Exchange Server.  I had someone else put in our Exchange server and I'm in the process of learning Exchange myself.  However for some reason today our emails have been messed up.  We have a VM running a guest OS of Windows Server 2008 R2, and on that box we have Microsoft Exchange 2010 loaded on it.  We are able to send and recieve messages to each other internally with no problem but for some reason when someone from outside our network tries to email me or anybody else internally they get this message:

Delivery is delayed to these recipients or distrubution lists:

'William Washington'

Subject: RE: Peace keeping

This message has not yet been delivered. Microsoft Exchange will continue to try delivering the message on your behalf.

Delivery of this message will be attempted until 8/30/2012 8:54:09(GMT-5:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada). Microsoft Exchange will notify you if the message can't be delivered by that time.

In addition to this problem all of our attorneys can't access there email on there phones.  Everyone's phone says that it can't reach the server. However Outlook Web Access and the local Outlook clients are recieving the internal emails.  Please help?  What could be my problem?
