Good day all!
We have installed and setup a KEMP LM2200 HLB device. I do not have a full Exchange Test environment, so I need to do this with two more CAS servers added to the production environment.
For sake of scenario, here is where I am at so far:
Current CAS for all end users: uwdomexch-04
New CAS servers for array: CAS-01, CAS-02
All of our users currently point to the uwdomexch-04 server exclusively. I have configured the CAS-01 and CAS-02 servers in the KEMP as “Real Servers” on the Virtual Service for the HLB and will be doing SSL-Offloading on these two using this TechNet article: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/1267.how-to-configure-ssl-offloading-in-exchange-2010.aspx
The step I am currently at is the creation of the CasArray in Exchange. So far I have a DNS entry of “casarray.domain.local”. What I am worried about is creating the CASArray name and forcing all the current users to use the new CASArray. I would like to know if it is true, that when the CASArray name is created all current databases pointing to uwdomexch-04 will remain there and only new databases created will use the new CASArray as it’s RpcClientAccessServer. I do realize however that I can change the RpcClientAccessServer later for the current databases via PowerShell.
My reason for posting this question is to get clarification from a Pro, so I can put my weary mind at ease.
Thank you for your input on this, it’s greatly appreciated.
