I'm using an Address Book Policy with a GAL that is not a superset of the custom distribution list.This is the best case scenario for us. The business unit sees only itself in the GAL and sees other business units in custom distribution lists. I mention this because MS says not to configure it this way and we get an AD access error for the recipient info in OWA only. We still see the list of users.
error:The Active Directory resource couldn't be accessed. This may be because the Active Directory object doesn't exist or the object has become corrupted, or because you don't have the correct permissions.
We don't want a GAL with all business unit members in it because it's not very useful. Business unit members contact members in the same unit and look at custom distribution lists for everybody else. It works fine in Outlook but OWA seems a different beast altogether.
Is there a workaround if in fact the error is caused by failing to use a GAL which includes the distribution list members, or is something esle going on?
