Free/Busy with cross site silent redirection

We have cross site silent redirection setup for our users in Europe. If their mailbox in on the US server, when they go to mail.company.com, they are sent to the server in the US. If their mailbox is not found on the US server, but is found in the EU server, they are redirected to eumail.company.com. This is all working fine for Outlook and OWA. The problem we ran into was with the certificate, I needed to set the internal and external URLs for the EU server to the external URL. This got rid of the certificate warning when opening Outlook 2010.

The issue we have now is that Free/Busy isn't showing up for any users on the EU server. genevatest on the EU server can see my Free/Busy info, but I can't see the Free/Busy info for the genevatest user.

From the research I have been doing it is looking like I need to set the external url for EWS to the server name, but if I do that we will run into the certificate issue again. Do we need to do this and add the local domain to the certificate?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Ken
