Exchange 2010 databases on NAS storage

I'm trying to find out if it is supported to store Exchange 2010 databases directly on NAS storage, accessed via SMB or NFS shares.

For previous versions, I've found:

Exchange 5.5 Server:  Supported
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328879

Exchange 2000 Server:  Unsupported
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328879

Exchange Server 2003:  Supported
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328879

Exchange 2007: Unsupported
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb738146%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx
"Unlike previous versions of Exchange Server, network-attached storage is not supported in Exchange 2007. The only network-based storage transport supported for Exchange 2007 is iSCSI."

However, the Exchange 2010 document has a serious clarity issue.

Storage Architectures
The following table describes supported storage architectures and provides best practice guidance for each type of storage architecture where appropriate.
Supported storage architectures
(table describing storage solutions)
A network-attached storage (NAS) unit is a self-contained computer connected to a network, with the sole purpose of supplying file-based data storage services to other devices on the network. The operating system and other software on the NAS unit provide the functionality of data storage, file systems, and access to files, and the management of these functionalities (for example, file storage).

So NAS is mentioned in the "Supported" section, but not part of the table.  It almost looks like someone put in the text for another row in the table, but never got around to fixing it.

Has anyone seen any information regarding this?
