DAG IP Address Issue (IP Address already in use on the server)

I have an issue with a newly created DAG. We have no other DAGs. I set the server up with two NICs and configured the replication NIC to use the IP address 10.16.50.35. I have added the IP address 10.16.50.35 to it but when I try to add a host server I receive the error message that the IP address is already in use on the server. If I add the server first, I receive an error when trying to add the IP address.

I set the NIC to DHCP then added the IP address and the server then set the NIC back to that IP address. I am concerned about the initial errors though. I also read that the DAG network should auto-configure but I see no network information. Any ideas?
