I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2010 and am having issues with Microsoft Exchange Server on outgoing messages only. A few times each day, after I click 'send' on an outgoing message, Outlook will lock up - anywhere from 30-60 seconds to indefinitely. Sometimes, the message will eventually send, but on other occasions, the software will freeze up with a "Not Responding" message, or the following error message" "Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the Microsoft Exchange Server at xxxxx.local" (where xxxxx is my employer's email server). When that happens, I have no choice but to restart the program, since (if it reaches that point), it never resolves on its own. It's frustrating, because I often lose 5-10-15 minutes of work in the process.
I've keep my sent and delete folders cleaned out and have most other messages archived, and the issue only happens on outgoing message. No rhyme or reason - I'll send 30-40 messages with
no problem, then have issues. An outgoing message with a 2-3mb attached file will go through, and then sending a 2-sentence email w/no attachment will freeze up the software. No pattern as far as to whom the messages are sent, and over the past few months,
has happened at all times of morning or afternoon. Our company IT person has found no cause or solution, so we're hoping someone will have some suggestions. Thanks!!!!
