Our SMTP server (which connects to Exchange via the receive connector which is failing) reports connection timed out once every few days at the moment.
We see the following error in the event log at the exact time our non-exchange SMTP server begins reporting time-outs:
Watson report about to be sent for process id: 9732, with parameters: E12, c-RTL-AMD64, 14.01.0355.002, M.E.RpcClientAccess.Service, M.E.Data.Storage, M.E.D.S.ServerPerformanceObject.StopAndCollectPerformanceData, System.InvalidOperationException, 97fd, 14.01.0355.002.
ErrorReportingEnabled: False
The solution appears to be to restart the Transport Services however as discovered last night it will recover itself after around 5 hours.
The environment is running Exchange 2010 SP1 RU6.
I've just turned on verbose logging for the receive connector being affected.
Has any one else seen this problem or have any idea of where I should look next?
