Good morning everyone. My first post on the forums. I'm a lurker, but I finally need some of your expertise!
So here's the deal. We have an old .local domain that we are currently in production on. Over the past 6-12 months I have been working to build up a new virtual infrastructure. From servers, to virtual desktops. I'm at the point where I'm ready to start transitioning people over to this new infrastructure but my only problem is Exchange. We are going to use the same username format (lastnamefirstinitial).
My question is: can we poke holes in our firewall for our new domain to access our production Exchange? If the username is the same, and we add some DNS entries for our current Exchange on our new infrastructure, can we make this work? If not, what are our alternatives?
I look forward to hearing back from you!
