Exchange 2003 had a nice tool where you could "Move All Replicas".
Exchange 2007 and 2010 have the MoveAllReplicas.ps1 script.
However, it did not work for me and some participants on this forum have recommended against using it.
Main reason: it migrates system folders that do not need to be migrated.
So I was planning to do this manually but I'm unsure of something...
I'm in the Public Folder Management Console (PFMC) of the Exchange 2007 server.
In the public folders properties (replication tab), the Exchange 2010 server is listed as a replica (or having a replica).
If I delete this reference on the Exchange 2007 server, is that only local to the Exchange 2007 server or... will the removal replicate to the Exchange 2010 server (so it will be removed as a replica altogether, on both servers)??? Would I end up with no replicas anywhere?
I'm trying to remove everything that I must because I cannot remove the PF database: it still has folder replicas.
So do I have to remove every single replica? Even the references to the E2K10 server?
EDIT - remember, I'm only talking about what I see in the E2K7 PFMC and what changes might replicate to the E2K10.
This public folder business is really challenging me. I'm glad they go in the mailbox database in E2K13!
