Email address resolves with a full stop at the end

Hi, 

One of our guys types and email address and when it resolves (Ctrl+K) it resolves the email address with a full stop at the end of the address. I have removed the suggested contact but it still resolves the same. I have not tried resetting the full suggested contact list yet as I would like to avoid this but I was hoping there was another this could be fixed. 

The user is running outlook 2010 and we are running exchange 2010 sp1 in hosted mode.
