Recover deleted contacts

I found a previous thread on this, but does not quite address my problem. I have a user, has Outlook 2010, on an Exchange 2010 environment. He creates contact lists as a contact. Yesterday he deleted one. The previous thread said to check his deleted items folder, but Outlook 2010 does not move contacts to the deleted items folder when they are deleted. I tested this on my machine to verify this.

So my question is, how does one recover a single item like "contacts"?
