Cannot get external email to work Exchange 2010.

I currently have a virtual domain I set up using VMware.  I have a Server 2008 R2 that is a domain controller with DNS and DHCP.  The internal domain is richspangler.local.  I have an Exchange 2010 server on a separate VM.  All the clients connect and internal email works as it should.  I purchased richspangler.com from godaddy and have set up an A record pointing to exchange.richspangler.com (the IP address for my Linksys router using Comcast.)  I set the MX record pointing @ exchange.richspangler.com.  I have the Linksys WRT54GS.  I went into applications and gaming and set port 25 for 192.168.1.103 which is the static address of my Exchange server.  I am unable to send and receive external email.  I get an error in Exchange about delivery being delayed and so far nothing bouncing back to my gmail account when I email one of my exchange account @richspangler.com.  When I go to mxtoolbox.com and put in richspangler.com it comes back with my MX information but the SMTP test fails.  Any idea on what I am missing? I am pretty new to Exchange but have followed tutorials online in regards to setting up external email in the accepted domains and send connectors and it looks good from what I can tell.

Thanks
