I have a single Exchange server in an organization running Exchange 2010 that I want to upgrade to SP3 so I can install Exchange 2013 on another server and migrate to it.
My problem is this. When I run Setup.exe after extracting all the files, when I get to the splash screen instead of getting the option "Install Microsoft Exchange Server upgrade" I get the splash screen that looks like I'm installing Exchange 2010 on a server where it's partway through the install already showing steps 1-3 are already done with .NET 3.5 SP1 and Powershell v2 already installed and the language has been chosen (by being grayed out) and the next step is "Install Microsoft Exchange".
If I select that next step then I get a screen titled Exchange Maintenance Mode and then a screen showing the roles already installed.
Of course it fails so I'm stuck here. Why am I getting this when I run SP3 instead of getting the upgrade option? And how do I go about fixing it? And I've tried running Setup.exe by right-clicking and selecting Run as Administrator and that didn't help.
