CAS Array name the same internally and exterally with split DNS

I am preparing to deploy Exchange 2010 and have a concern about naming the CAS array.  I read recommendations about not naming the internal and external names the same, but I am wondering why if I use split dns to have different IPs between inside and outside.  I would like to use mail.company.com internal and externally.  Advice?  Thanks!
