Accessing OWA/Setting OO cross forest issue

Hi,

The environment I'm currently working on is a bit complex and it's in the middle of a cross forest migration. The issue we're having is that random user accounts (no obvious pattern) are not able to log into OWA or set their Out of Office (via Outlook). No accounts are having a problem accessing emails via Outlook.

Mailbox Location: Child Domain A of Forest A (old environment)

User Account Location: Child Domain A of Forest B (new environment)

The CAS server which is used to access OWA is in the old forest (Forset A), along with users mailboxes.

I think the problem is related to permissions somewhere along the line. The reason for this that the Administrator account from 'Child Domain A of Forest A' is able to open a users mailbox via OWA.

What I want to know is... Where do permissions differ from a client accessing emails via Outlook vs accessing emails via OWA? I'm assuming accessing Out of Office via Outlook is somehow related as that is not working either.

Please note that this issue is not forest wide, but affecting random accounts only. If you need any more information please let me know.

Thank you,

Gregor
