exchange 2010 DAG replication and mapi network

hi

initially i had setup 2 MBX servers with 1 bonded nic (on virtual machine on xenserver) and although this is supported it is not recommended by many of you. So today i spend some time setting up an additional VLAN for replication only traffic and configured it based on this article http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2010/management-administration/planning-deploying-testing-exchange-2010-site-resilient-solution-sized-medium-organization-part6.html

the 2 mbx servers are in the same datacentre and later on i will include the DR site as well (first have to figure out how to route the replication vlan traffic over the wan to the DR site first)

so i went ahead and disabled replication on the MAPI network using the EMC.

i send some large emails to and from the users on this DAG and made sure failover between the 2 MBX servers worked.

my question is, how do i check that replication is really going over the replication network, and if i were to disable the replication network nic (by selecting disabling under device manager) is there a way i can see it starts using the mapi network?

I think it is all working as it should but i just like to check using some tools if it is really doing what it supposed to do before i start figuring out how to setup a replication to the DR site

many thanks
