Exchange 2000 migration to Ex2k10 SP1

Hi,

I have follwing migration task - move Ex2k to Ex2k10.

DC is on the W2k and Ex2k is installed on the same server. AD is 2000 native.

I know there's no direct migration, but I wonder if the solution described below will work :

1) add Win2k8 R2 server as additional AD server and move FSMO to new machine

2) export user mailboxes (it's only 12 GB, no public folders migration) to pst files via Exmerge

3) uninstall Exchange 2000

4) decomission onld DC (W2k) and rise AD to 2003 or higher

5) install on new machine Ex2k10 SP1

6) create mailboxes and import pst files

Will it work ?
