First time posting so I'll try to be as detailed as possible with examples. I am interested in setting public folder size limits of a parent folder to include all subfolder content. I've seen a lot of posts and info on setting limits but every single one
is just setting individual limits as opposed to what I'm looking for.
For example using public folders:
\Domain\Organization\Division\Subfolder A
\Domain\Organization\Division\Subfolder B,
\Domain\Organization\Division\Subfolder C
I've seen a lot of setting, lets say a 25 MB limit, for ALL public folders to include the Division parent folder AND Subfolders A,B,C. This would be 25 MB in the home folder, then an additional 25 MB in Subfolder A, addtional 25 MB in Subfolder B, and an
addition 25 in C. This would put a total of 100 MB limits and would grow larger for each subfolder added (lets say another Subfolder D). The reason for this post is to stop this continuous and uninhibited growth from happening for storage purposes.
What I'm looking for is to limit a max size of a parent folder to include all of the content of any/all subfolders within it.
Example using same public folders above:
\Domain\Organization\Division has a 25 MB max limit
\Domain\Organization\Division\Subfolder A content applies to the 25 MB limit of \Division parent folder
same applies for Subfolders B and C
In terms of numbers lets say \Division has 10 MB of content which means any/all Subfolders only have 15 MB to work with.
\Division = 10 MB out of max 25MB (25-10 = 15)
\Division\Subfolder A = 10 MB out of remaining 15 MB (15-10 = 5)
\Division\Subfolder B = 5 MB out of remaining 5 MB
\Division\Subfolder C = 0 MB due to size limitations of parent folder being reached
Please let me know if this is possible or doesn't make sense. I would greatly appreciate it, a part of a rather large organization and storage will become tight since we have migrated from 2K3 and PF's are still wildly used.
