Imported IMAP style folders instead of just messages - oops!

I recently ran import-mailbox to import pst files after a migration from an IMAP based system.  The users now use Outlook and Exchange 2010.

When import-mailbox ran it apparently captured the folder type(?) in addition to the messages.  Now when users interact with the folders they act like IMAP folders.  Specifically, the delete button is greyed out and there is an undelete option for each message.

There is also a right-click context option for "Imap Folders..." when the inbox is right-clicked.  But this fails to bring up a new window.

If the user creates new folders, messages placed in these folders to not suffer the same symptoms.

How do I change the inbox back to a “regular” Exchange folder, as opposed to a IMAP style folder?  Is this a job for MFCmapi?  I hope there is a powershell script I can run to convert this all back, or provide simple instructions to the users!
