I have a scenario where we have a new exchange 2010 environment in-place and still migrating from 2007. We have everything working except for one thing; Public Folders. Upon hours of troubleshooting, it seems a previous IT employee just shut down Exchange 2003 and did not uninstall all Exchange components along with all necessary Active Directory components. We noticed this as the path in ADSIEDIT shows 2 legacy server names:
CN=Configuration-->CN=Services,-->CN=Microsoft Exchange,-->CN=Orginzation Name,-->CN=Administrative Groups,-->CN=First Administrative Group,-->CN=Servers (Exchange2003 Server1/Server2)
All the forums and threads say to remove the CN=Servers folder BUT only if they are empty. However, they are not.
Any suggestions?
