We have Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2003 coexisting. Prior to adding the new Exchange server. RPC over HTTP was working fine to the 2003 server.
When we use Outlook 2010 to connect externally to ourserver.ourdomain.com to a user homed on Exchange 2010, everything works as expected.
When we use Outlook 2010 to connect externally to ourserver.ourdomain.com to a user homed on Exchange 2003 we can a message:
An encrypted connection to your mail server is not...
Then it tries to do an unencrypted connection but that fails as well.
