I have 2 VMs called mail1 and mail2-- recently built. I installed Exch 2010 sp2 on each, both have cas, mailbox and hub roles. Each VM has only 1 virtual NIC with a static IP. Both VMS are running server 2008r2 enterprise. I can create the DAG and mail1 adds to it fine. Then when I add mail2 I get the error pasted in the next post.
I've done some googling but its been no help. There is no AV on either server. Windows Firewall has been disabled. Doing ipconfig /all, I can confirm that the virtual NICs have different MAC addresses. The servers can ping each other (they're on two hyper-V hosts).
I also tried to add mail2 to the failover cluster manager manually once the DAG was created and mail1 was added. It fails with the error:
Unable to successfully cleanup.
The server 'mail2.esocoff.com' could not be added to the cluster.
An error occurred while adding node 'mail2.esocoff.com' to cluster 'DAG1'.
This operation returned because the timeout period expired
