Should Kernel Mode Auth be enabled on CAS 2010 vDirs?

Hi all,

We have moved a couple of mailboxes over from 2007 to 2010 and when we launch Outlook we receive a username & password prompt.  Even though we enter our credentials the prompt comes back up and we are unable to open Outlook and view the mailbox.

I recall an issue with 2007 where you had to enable Kernel Mode auth on the Autodiscover, RPC, OAB and EWS vDirs in order to fix something similar but does this apply to 2010?

I have read that by default, Kernel mode should be enabled in IIS7 but if I check the Autodiscover vDir, it has Windows Auth = Enabled but enable Kernel mode auth is unticked.  Same applies for EWS.  I am unable to tick Kernel mode auth for OAB vDir.  Windows Auth is disabled for RPC vDir.

If I tick Enable Kernel Mode for the Autodiscover and EWS vDirs we do not receive the prompt and we can enter Outlook fine.

Could someone tell me if Kernel Mode should be enabled on the CAS 2010 vDirs and if so, which ones?
