Hi Exchange Crew,

even if i´ve searched across the board and got suggestions that are "related", i will post it, because i think it´s relevant and unresolved for me.

We enabled Personal Archives after applying SP1 to our Exchange Environment.

The Archives were enabled for the users, with the default and unchanged "Default Archive and Retention Policy" - assumes to cover most of the scenarios.

So now comes the tricky part, this Policy is applied to the users Mailboxes and that ´s it.

Now it´s up to the user to decide which folder he want´s to tag with which Policy Tags.

From my point of view - as the Exchange Admin - i´ve found no way, to get those informations.

So i would like to now, if someone knows the way to get the information like: "1 week Delete is applied to folder Inbox"

I´m pretty sure this will happen in the future, and i want to be aware of it.

Perfekt would be a suggestion approach to get this information directly from the Exchange Servers as an backup solution, also the way to get this information from outlook would be needed.

If my concern, isn´t clear - please reply and i´ll try to clarify. Already saying: THX for your replys!

Hello

 I have exchange 2010 SP3 environment  which is currently in production. We have multiple domain names added to accepted domain and it’s working fine.

I have two different public IP Address for MX (SMTP ) and OWA.

following DNS records are created with ISP DNS Servers. Below find the example.

MX Records

Smtp.abc.com (10.1.202.10) (SMTP /MX)

Smtp.zxc.com  (10.1.202.10) (SMTP /MX)- new domain

Smtp.qwe.com  (10.1.202.10) (SMTP /MX) - new domain

OWA and Autodiscover

Mail.abc.com (10.1.202.2) (owa)

Autodiscover.abc.com (10.1.202.2)

Currently outlook anywhere and  outlook autodiscover  working for (mail.abc.com) domain without having any issues. All the other domain are failing errors when I’m testing the Remote connectivity Analyzer. When I’m trying configure the outlook profile it’s not resolving the domain name.

OWA working for domain they also using the same url to access the OWA (https://Mail.abc.com/owa)

Any idea how to resolve this issue.

Hi,

We are using Microsoft SBS2011 including Exchange 2010

one of users could not start his Outlook 2010. the screen  shows "Verifying Data Integrity" which takes hours.

I check his .ost file at his computer, which is about 50GB.

Does Outlook 2010 have the capacity limiit?

Hi,

i have exchange 14.0 (2010) and want to upgrade to SP3.

i tried to run the SP installer (SP1 and SP3 - both the same issue..).

the readiness check finish successfully, and i click on upgrade.

when i am getting to the stage of "language files" it asking for disk (insert 'Microsoft exchange client language pack - arabic'), and it give me the option to browse (it searching for clientlanguagepack.msi file).

i tried to download SP1 multilanguage from the MSDN and browsing to the clientlanguagepack.msi on "ar" folder but it tells me "the file is not valid installation package for the product 'Microsoft exchange client language pack - Arabic'. try to find the installation package in folder in which you can install Microsoft exchange client language pack - Arabic."

canceling the operation killing the upgrade...

how can i remove this Arabic language? actually, i need only English on my system (i never installed any other language pack).

is there any way to upgrade this exchange? by removing the Arabic, or by getting the 'Microsoft exchange client language pack - Arabic' MSI?

On-Prem exchange 2010 user mailbox is not showing up in GAL.  It is not hidden, nobody can see it, I also updated the OAB on the exchange 2010 server

Thoughts?

I am currently having a strange problem with Exchange 2010 SP1 and syncing a HTC Hero. I want to do a fresh sync but am unable to remove the device partnership and get the following error within EMC:

Hi guys.

4 hours ago my server went crazy: I was importing some psts into mailboxes. Suddenly, the server started to report an ntfs error on the drive holding the mailbox databases.

I had to reboot, stop all the relevant services and do a chkdsk /f.

After that, I started the services and the mdb went online again.

I was able to remove all the queued mailbox import requests but not a failed and an inprogress requests, both on the same mailbox (I've got to import 2 pst for each mailbox).

The error is: The attempt to deserialize the move job from the system mailbox job queue failed.

In the application event log I've got a long list of MSExchange Mailbox Replication 1102, 1119 and 1113 events: the server is retrying the import request every 10 seconds (it starts with event 1102 and then fails with multiple 1119 and one 1113).

I can't find any solution to this problem. I restarted the MRS: nothing. I looked up the user properties with ADSI edit and it's clean.

Any help?

Trying to move mailbox's from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 and have 3 mailbox's that refuse to move and 1 that has been stuck at 99% and completing for over 12 hours.

No errors and attempting to view the logs for the move gives me the generic deserialize error.

I should delete all mailboxes with a certain domain (e.g. daniele@contoso.com and not giovanni@microsoft.it) in a range of data.

The command for all the boxes should be:

foreach ($ mailbox in (get-mailbox)) {Search-Mailbox -id $ mailbox -SearchQuery '(Received: 01/01/2010..31/03/2020)' -DeleteContent -Force}

But how can I filter by domain?

Hi experts,

We have setup an exchange 2010 sp3 server in a Domain environment.

From my multi function printer, We use the scan to email function on the copier.

On my Microsoft Outlook, i received an email (plain text format) with an attachment .eml

If i open the .eml attachment, I will see the scanned document.pdf attached in it. The .eml file is in html format

The correct behavior to received the scanned document should be receiving .PDF file in the email.

What could be the cause? Any help will be appreciated!

Hi all,

I have tried to install Exchange server 2010 on Windows 2008 R2 domain controler, but I have this error message :

The forest functional level of the current Active Directory forest is not Windows Server 2003 native or later

also I have updated level of my forest from windows 2000 native to WINDOWS 2008 R2 and restart my server. but when I relaunch exchange 2010 setup I receive same error message.

in folder c:\exchangesetuplogs, I have found this error message "Couldn't find the Enterprise Organization container." repeated more thant 3 times.

I'm trying to add the EmployeeID field to the Global Address List as described in Lynn-Li her answer:

We are a complete Exchange 2010 SP3 organization with several servers. We migrated from 2007 several years ago and are now going to migrate to Ex 2016. While there are no issues with Exchange at all when I add a new mailbox or add a replica to public folder I will see the uninstalled and deleted Exchange 2007 server we removed years ago. I did run a Exchange uninstall on it I did not just shut it off but still I see these ghosts in various places.

So my question is can I go into ASDI edit and delete every occurrence of server "Ex2007" I find safely?  I don't want to risk my current environment but I have a feeling these ghosts will cause a problem when we migrate to Exchange 2016.

Again these current environment works perfect so it isn't actively routing traffic to this box or something like that it just shows up in various lists as I do things.

Hey guys,

In my organization we have close to 3000 mailboxes. I got the task to find the total size of specific 1000 mailboxes.

I have the CSV file that has:

FirstName, LastName, Alias (email address).

I want to run get-mailboxstatstics from the CSV file and pipe total size of my 1000 mailboxes to another CSV file.

Let's assume my CSV file is: users.csv

What would be the PowerShell script to execute this?

My environment is mixed Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 SP1 update 5. I have a number of users that access a public folder calendar by adding it to their public folder favorites which then adds it to their Outlook 2010 Other Calendars.

Beginning last week these users started reporting that the public folder calendars are starting to disappear from Other Calendars. If they go to their public folder favorites and click on the public folder calendar it seems to add it back in to Other Calendars.

Any ideas why they started to disappear?

Current Config is Exchange 2010 SP3 RU18 on Windows 2008 R2. While we await a decision on future state (2016/2019 vs O365), we have a sideways migation being set up for Exchange 2010 SP3 RU30 on Windows 2012 R2. Both environments are in the same data center. We have internal DNS zones configured for ThisIsOurCompany.com (internal and external) and Company.local (internal). We have been told that for an SSO project, we will be losing split DNS as our internal DNS zone for ThisIsOurCompany.com will be removed.

We have 2 different CAS pools set up on our F5 - one is for our current CAS, other is the new CAS. Our new CAS are configured with an outlook.company.local certificate issued by our internal CA, and virtual directories reference outlook.company.local in the URLs. All internal clients trust this CA. We do not have Outlook clients connecting over the Internet. External clients are either OWA or EAS.

Our current mailboxes are still on the old mailbox servers, using outlook.ThisIsOurCompany.com as the CAS Array with cached mode configured to use that name as the RPC Proxy in GPO (Only connect if Proxy Server certificate has this principal name,RPC Proxy Server Name). We're planning to remove these settings from the current GPO, since the proxy name is going to change. Next, we'll rename the CAS Array to the new name and set the RPCClientAccessServer to the new name on the databases (old and new).

Aside from moving mailboxes, is there any way to speed up Outlook clients to use the new name? We are definitely moving the mailboxes, but the number of databases involved will take time to empty and we have pressure to move this along as quickly as we can. Would replacing outlook.ThisIsOurCompany.com with a CNAME record that resolves to outlook.company.local help with any mailboxes still on the old environment? Any other suggestions to allow us to move off of the old name beyond moving all mailboxes?

Any other concerns we need to worry about with making the change to outlook.company.local?

Hello Experts, 

I'm having a hell of a time trying to migrate my Exchange 2010 to Office 365.

I get error/warning HCW8078 - Migration Endpoint could not be created when running the Hybrid Configuration. 

I get error "We coun't detect your server settings. Please enter them. The Exchange Remote endpoint settings could not be determined from the autodiscover response. No MRSProxy was found running at "mydomain". When I enter the FQDM of my exchnage (same FQDN my OWA runs on) I get an error. 

I followed the document below with Microsoft support team at least 3 times already.

I have also disabled, enabled MRS and restarted the IIS several times. (This is something that has worked for several people). But not for me. 

My MRS Replication is working, and health is ok. 

My firewall is directing traffic coming to 443 to the CAS. 

The last (Test Migration Availability) I ran gave me the results: "The connection to the server "FQDN of my CAS" could not be completed. ) (The remote server returned an unexpected response: (405) Method Not Allowed...). 

Microsoft support keeps saying the firewall is somehow blocking traffic but I everything looks good when it comes to the firewall. 

I honestly don't know what else to do. Any support is greatly appreciated. My goal is to migrate current users to Office 365, once all there then decommission the Exchange 2010 server. 

FYI: 

My auto-discover is running on a .com domain and my FQDN on a .net domain. (Not sure if the problem is somewhere in IIS).

Hi all,

Trying to figure out why when any iOS device tries to connect our Exchange 2010 server that a certificate warning pops up stating "cannot verify server identity". When selecting details is comes up with a cert name that is not in our organization. If you click continue it proceeds with connection to the Exchange account.

For obvious reasons we are concerned about where this cert is residing and how it got there. But I haven't been able to pinpoint where it could be. Our Exchange does have a valid SSL cert.

Note: We do not use Activsync autodiscover.

After following the directions on tech document "Exchange Server TLS guidance, Getting Ready for TLS 1.2". I was able to use the TLS 1.2 in a browser, but cannot use it to configure IMAP in Exchange 2010. Am I missing something or is in NOT possible to configure IMAP to use TLS 1.2 with Exchange 2010?
