I have a manager that wants access to all users mailboxes in our environment through his outlook client. We presently have a single Mailbox server with a single database. I have played around withAdd-ADPermission -identity "mailbox database" -user "serviceaccount" -ExtendedRights Receive-AsandAdd-MailboxPermission -identity "user" -user "serviceaccount" -AccessRights FullAccess for a a sinlge mailbox and haven't been able to access it through outlook. Can any one tell me what the best console command would be to provide this access? Is there a reference for -ExtendedRights?

Dear Expert,

I want to move Exchange Server 2010 sp1 Hub Transport Role to New Machine.

Currently on One Server both the Hub & CAS Role is working, want to move the only Hub Role to New Machine, what are easiest way to move the entire Hub configuration so that outlook automatically redirects through the new Hub Role.Windows 2008 R2 is the windows while Server is virtual.

Rashid

Exchange server failure - failover cluster

Hi All,

When our exchange server (DAG) both went down, I analysed the event logs and found the error

The description for Event ID 1135 from source Microsoft-Windows-FailoverClustering cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.". I found in the fail over cluster, Only one of the NIC is configured among the 2 node DAG, other is missing !! but I can see the Replication NIC from both the nodes of the DAG but the Primary/MAPI NIC is visible only for one node. I wonder is this causing the issue? There is option to add the Primary/MAPI NIC in the failover cluster configuration.

Is there a way add the other NIC without deleting the windows failover cluster / DAG?

Outlook 2016 Fails Authentication with local login account before trying account email credentials

I am running Outlook 2016 on Windows 10.  I am connecting to an on-premise Exchange 2010 with my employer.  I am told that my client is failing authentication every time I open Outlook several times (10 to 30 times) by sending the locally logged on credentials to Exchange.  Then,  the authentication switches to the account credentials identified in the Exchange email account setup and everything is fine.  Why does Outlook send the local computer login credentials to Exchange before trying the credentials set for the particular mail account?

I have completely removed all stored credentials in credential manager and removed the email account.  I installed the email account as the only account on the computer.  Same thing happens.  I have tried "prompt for credentials" on the account and have tried both "save password for this account" checked and unchecked.  It makes no difference.  Outlook still sends the local login credentials first.

I have also tried logging into the computer with a Microsoft account and with a local machine account.  Same results either way.

Has anyone witnessed this behavior?

MAPI session exceeded the maximum Exchange 2010

$

Trying to stop the following error from populating the Application log, current over 200000 errors in the last 13 days

Mapi session /o=<DOMAIN>/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=5236271ed5544b8b9b23f4e61f5af897-<USERNAME> with client type MoMT exceeded the maximum of 500 objects of type Folder.

I've tried increasing the objtFolder Store limit in the registry however all this resulted in was the servers response time slowing down and taking 8 seconds to respond to a key stroke and changing the error to the increased limit. So I've reverted this change.

I've followed this Technet Article to set the maximum allowed sessions per user which has seemed to have stopped some of the errors from other users however still get it repeating for 2 users one of which I can't find

I note at the bottom of the linked article it says there is no fix for this, is this just something I will have to ignore?

Is it possible to set this up?

Hi, Guys.

Need your assistance on this.

How do you troubleshoot when Offline Global Address List is not updating? How do we know if everyone is affected? How do we know if offline GAL / Address Book is working properly on server level? How do we isolate if the issue is just on client level? Please advise.

Appreciate your help on this.

Thank you.

Hi

SBS 2011 std/Exchange 2010.

Occasionally when server is restarted the Information Store Service is not started. A server restart usually fixes it but it’s a pain. Below is example of events generated after server restart. Server was restarted at 4:30 am in this example.

How can I fix this?

Thanks

Error creating mailbox after exchange 2003 to 2010 migration

Hello everyone,

Lets see if you can help me out , because after searching on the internet I have not been able to find anything similar.

I'm in a test environment where I was migrating from Exchange 2003 SP2 to Exchange 2010 SP2 . For the migration I have relied on the following document:

https://milindn.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/rapid-transition-guide-from-exchange-2003-to-exchange-2010.pdf

I finished up with the migration and Apparently everything went right up to a couple of days went to create a mailbox and I was not able to obtain the following error causes :

------------------

test Buzon

Error

Error:

Anyone can figure out what is going on?

Exchange server 2010 , failure to send an AutodiscoverPOST request, Outlook 2016 fails to Autodiscover on internet only

We have an exchange server 2010 SP3, serving Outlook 2010,2013 and 2016 clients. When the server was set up for auto-discover one test in the MS Outlook connectivity  kept failing but the overall test said that auto-discovery was working. The test that is failing is

Image

We recently purchased MS Office 2016 for two clients. These clients connect locally using Auto-discover, but do not connect using Auto-discover over the internet. We use a split DNS where by the internal network is .local and the external DNS is hosted somewhere else. I have tried altering the DNS settings as suggested in other articles. But the result was no email from the internet. Local email only. So if the above issue is stopping Outlook 2016 from functioning outside the local network. How do I fix Exchange 2010 to get Outlook 2016 to work from the internet? I may add that Outlook 2010 and 2013 clients work with auto-discovery both inside the network and from the internet.

Cannot open your default email folders. Outlook cannot start because a data file to send and receive messages cannot be found

Hi,

I'm running Microsoft outlook 2010 on Windows 7 and i can't get outlook to open because when i open it, halfway through loading it, it says :

"Cannot open your default email folders. Outlook cannot start because a data file to send and receive messages cannot be found. Check your settings in this Microsoft outlook profile. In Microsoft Windows, click the start button, and then click control panel. Click user accounts and then click and then click mail. Click show profiles, select this profile, and then click properties.

I've searched online to try and solve this and the common answer it so uncheck the compatibility box in properties, but mine is already unchecked. I've tried checking it and unchecking it and it still doesn't work.

There have been other answers but my IT knowledge is extremely limited  and i don't want to risk making things worse. If anybody has an answer I'd be extremely grateful to see it! I'm hoping this'll be quite simple so that i can do this myself!

Thanks
