I have an Exchange Server Organization with two Exchange 2010 Servers. One server, named "CAS", has only the Client Access role installed. And the second server, named "MBX1", has Hub Transport, Client Access, and Mailbox roles installed.
My organization had a third Exchange 2010 Server, named "MBX2", with the same three roles as MBX1. The decision was made to remove MBX2 from the network. I've thought I had followed all of the appropriate procedures:
- Moved all mailboxes off MBX2's database
- Removed the Send Connectors for MBX2
- Uninstalled all the Exchange Roles and Management Tools using the "Control Panel - Add/Remove programs"
The Exchange server seemed to complete the uninstallation successfully. However, when I use the EMC on MBX1, I still see the MBX2 server everywhere. Shouldn't MBX2 have disappeared from the console? How do I get rid of it?
