confirmed email delivery but no email in mailbox.

Running Exchange 2010. User stated he did not receive an email that 3 others in the recipient list did.

Examined the delivery log and it indicated delivery. 

I reviewed his deleted files and did not see the email.  Ran a deleted email recovery and still nothing. 

Is it possible to have a delivery confirmation but no sign of the email in outlook?
