I have configured an Exchange server (which is a back up server for my existing one). Though it is connected to the network physically, it is isolated logically. The Exchange is not running in this backup server. I have set the winhttp proxy so that the server can reach a WSUS server. The server can get the downloads from the server. However it fails performing the exchange rollups (with an error code 80070643). If I start the exchange, the update completes successfully. The server configuration server is:
- Windows 2008 R2
- Exchange 2010
Must the exchange be running for the rollup to succeed? My requirement is to have the Exchange stopped. Is there a way to perform this task while the exchange is stopped?
Please let me know if I am not clear in this regard.
