Hi
Running EX2010 SP1 with mainly Outlook 2003 clients.
We've recently hit a problem where clients randomly cannot get into Outlook. The mailbox server is logging Event 9646 but not at the same time as the client is trying to connect Outlook.
"Mapi session "6e6d2b13-a895-42d8-b3b3-3830fe9b5ff2" exceeded the maximum of 32 objects of type "session"."
If we run a "get-logonstatistics" for the affected user there may only be less than 10 connections showing so I don't understand why the user cannot get into their mailbox.
Also, on searching for this problem, there are references to using TCPView to clear sessions for a specific IP address. But the logonstatistics do not seem to show the clientipaddress as the client is actually the CAS server.
So, two questions:
Why would the user be blocked from getting into their mailbox when they don't seem to have the 32 connections open ?
Is there any way to determine which IP address the client is connecting from or, more specifically, how to disconnect any active sessions for a particular user apart from the obvious way of rebooting servers ?
Thanks
John
