Hi All

In Our Environment we still Exchange 2003 Servers and now we are upgrading to Exchange 2010. Coming to our existing Infrastructure we have

Root - Contoso.com

Child Domains :

1)XYZ.contoso.com -> Abc.XYZ.contoso.com(Child domain of Xyz.contoso.com where exchange 2003 was installed)

2)Europe.contoso.com->123.Europe.contoso.com(Where Exchange 2003 was installed)

3)America.contoso.com

4)Africa.contoso.com

 Currently all Exchange 2010 servers are installed on root domain(Contoso.com ) . Now we need to Migration existing exchange 2003 to 2010 which are there on child domains.

Now do we need to run prepare /AD during the time of installing exchange 2010 on child domains or we can directly run  prepare /domain?

However running prepare /AD again it will not have any impact but do we need to run on child domain where exchange 2003 was installed? or not needed

I'm currently facing a problem regarding that Event ID: 4002. That error appear every 30 minutes. I did look arround but cannot figuring out why that happening. Is some one pass walk throught this any Idea?

An expired Godaddy certificate is causing a security popup when users start Outlook.  I have removed the cert using the Exchange Management Shell and certmgr and have created a new self sign cert but still getting the popup.  The self signed cert is assigned to POP, SMTP, IIS & IMAP.

What am I missing?

Running the command new-restoremailboxrequest on Exchange 2010 SP1.  The restore fails and the following event is logged which seems to indicate a conflict with the Junk Email rule.  I've tried disabling junk email by using set-mailboxjunkemailconfiguration -Enabled $false but still get this failure.  Any suggestions?

I'm looking for an option that allows me to redirect a voicemail. We use Cisco Call Manager and the UM Exchange for the Voicemail.

Here is exactly what I'm looking for with Unity (Cisco voicemail). I'm looking for a similar option:

Normal scenario:

In normal scenario, when you make a call from User C to User A, and User B does not pick up the call, the call will be routed to User A’s Voicemail.

Redirect scenario:

User A has forwarded calls to User B. So, when User C dials User A, the call will be routed to User B. If User B does not pick the call, the call will go to User B’s Voicemail box.

How can this be accomplished?

Hi. I am currently migrating from one Exchange 2010 server to another:

-EX1: Original EX2010 server

-EX2: New EX2010 Server

Both Exchange servers are in the same AD site and both servers have the Mailbox, Hub Transport and CAS roles installed on them. All mailboxes have been moved to EX2.

I am getting an odd mail routing problem with this configuration. If I connect to a mailbox on EX2 (via Outlook or OWA), and send an email, (internal or external), the email is picked up on EX2, sent to EX1, then sent back to EX2 for delivery either to the correct mailbox, or to the internet. The bit I don't understand is why EX1 is being used in this situation? Why doesn't EX2 handle all aspects of mail delivery? I ultimately want to get rid of EX1 and so need EX2 to handle email routing on its own but I can't work out why emails are being routed / process by EX1?

Here is the basic architecture I have.

Two Exchange 2010 servers having all roles.
Client Access Array answer to CAS.contoso.com through a hardware balancer that redirects OWA,ECP,EWS, etc... traffic to servers "MAIL SERVER 1" and "MAIL SERVER 2".

We experience issues with a custom application that uses (badly?) Exchange Web Services.
This cause major crashes to the IIS services on "MAIL SERVER 1" and "MAIL SERVER 2" that forces us to restart complete servers once the crash occurs.

To avoid complete unavailability of the current production CAS array I was thinking about installing anew CAS housing only Client Access role that would be "out" of the current CAS array then *force* the application to use only that CAS.

I was thinking about something like this:

Here are my questions:

1. Can I setup something like this?
   I mean can I setup a CAS "out" of a CAS array ?)
2. Can I be sure that this application "speaks only" with IIS services on server "NEW"?

As you might have understood my hidden goal is to "protect" the current production CAS array from IIS failures resulting of bad EWS requests/usage from the "custom application".
In a couple of weeks this "application" causes three major Exchange IIS crashes (via EWS) causing failure of IIS role on servers... Before expecting a review of the custom code of this custom application I would like to modifiy our architecture to protect our current production CAS array.

As of what i have found from different blogs is that all the activesync devices including IPhone , IPAD and  Android based phones cannot access online archive/Personal archive in exchange 2010.

Is there any third party app in the market for the above devices which can support access of Online archive?

I am trying to delete mails from a user's Purges. The search is finding the items i am looking for just fine. If I then do a -deletecontent it just returns 0. I am not changing the search query.

I'm looking for advice in following scenario

Exchange 2010 SP3 rollup 13

We have following accepted domains:
- contoso.com
- fabrikam.com

Currently contoso.com is primary smtp address of all users and also contoso.com is their UPN.

Now we want to "phase out" contoso.com and want to switch to primary smtp address fabrikam.com and also UPN fabrikam.com

I'm looking for an approach so we not have to change everyone primary smtp from contoso.com to fabrikam.com in once, we want phased approach. This phased approach we also want for changing UPN from contoso.com to fabrikam.com

Currently we have no autodiscover in place , it is externally not published

My idea would be

-Configure autodiscover.contoso.com in Exchange/AD SCP

-Create autodiscover.contoso.com DNS record and also autodiscover.farbrikam.com DNS record

- Point autodiscover.contoso.com to Exchange 2010 server

-For the autodiscover.fabrikam.com we create redirect to autodiscover.fabrikam.com

- Run HCW for contoso.com and finish the HCW wizard

- Configure Autodiscover Domain Feature (autod) for contoso.com and fabrikam

In this scenario users have @contoso.com primary smtp and UPN contoso.com and all works well (i presume :-))

But now we want to change for some user their primary smtp to fabrikam.com and also change their UPN to fabrikam.com will all keep working? And is it so that if a users has primary smtp fabrikam.com they get an outlook warning cause of the redirect?

And if we have changed all users their primary smtp to fabrikam.com and also their UPN to fabrikam.com do i need to rerun the HCW? We then want to remove the redirect from autodiscover.fabrikam.com to autodiscover.contoso.com and want to point autodiscover.fabrikam.com directly to Exchange servers, does this require to rerun the HCW cause the primary (autod) would be autodiscover.contoso.com?

Any advice would be welcome!
