Unable to move active mailbox database or update database copy

I have a DAG with 3 servers spread over 2 sites that has been working well for about 6 months.  Now, however, I am unable to move an active mailbox database.  When I try, I get an error: "An Active Manager operation failed. Error An error occurred while trying to validate the specified database copy for possible activation. Error: Database copy 'ExchangeDB1' on server 'Ex2010A.mycorp.com' has content index catalog files in the following state: 'Failed'."  I receive the same error when trying to move other databases.  All the database copies show a status of "Healthy" but a ContentIndexState of "Failed".

To try to correct this, I ran the command "Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity "ExchangeDB1\EX2010A" -CatalogOnly" but this failed with the error:

"A source-side operation failed. Error Content indexing operation failed with the following message: The seeding operation encountered an error while trying to contact the search service. Error: Microsoft Exchange Search Service may not be running on server EX2010A. Specific RPC error message: Error 0x6d9 (There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper) from cli_Dismount. [Database: ExchangeDB1, Server: EX2010A.mycorp.com]"  I checked the services, and the Exchange Search service is running.  The catalog folder for ExchangeDB1 on EX2010A does not have any files later than 2 weeks ago.

I tried running the Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy command again, this time specifying a source server where all the mailbox database copies show to have the ContentIndexState being healthy, but I received the same error.  The catalog folder for ExchangeDB1 on this Exchange Server looks to be current

Where are these endpoints that the update command is trying to get?  Are they on the other Exchange Server, or are they on a Domain Controller?

One bit of background that may or may not be relevant.  The day before the last catalog entry on EX2010A, another admin had moved the Domain Controllers into OU's he had created below the Domain Controllers OU.  This caused Active Manager to fail several hours later.  I moved all the DC's back into the Domain Controllers OU, and Active Manager was able to bring the databases back online a few minutes later.

What do I need to do to get these catalogs current?

Thank you very much.
