Remove other users mailbox from my outlook

$

As an IT support, sometimes I have to add other user's mailbox to my Outlook when users are not at office .

We are running Exchange 2010, Outlook 2010, Outlook2007 and Outlook 2003.

But since I  add the user, I cannot remove the user's mailbox from my Outlook. When I close the user's mailbox, the error message pops up" this group of folders is associated with an email account. To remove the account, on the Tools menu, click Account setting, select the account, and then click Remove"

I went to Tools\Acccounting and remove this account, Unfortunately the user's mailbox does not disappear in my outlook. I add and reomve many times, but the user's mailbox are still there.

The others mailboxes appear even when I open the outlook in a brand new computer, even I upgrade Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Exchange 2007 #554 5.4.4 SMTPSEND.DNS.NonExistentDomain; nonexistent domain ## Intermittent

Our environment is Exchange 2007<o:p></o:p>

We are getting external messages bounce back to users with #554 5.4.4
SMTPSEND.DNS.NonExistentDomain; nonexistent domain ##, external mail does go
out for a few minutes after the transport service is restarted but then starts
failing with users receiving #554 5.4.4 SMTPSEND.DNS.NonExistentDomain;
nonexistent domain ##

Exchange is configured with specified external DNS server, I have tested looking up the
mx records for some of the domains that have failed and all is ok with DNS, so
this does not look to be the issue. I am a little confused that mail does go
out for anything between 30 seconds and up to 6 minutes after the transport
service is restarted. I would be grateful if anyone could assist me please?

Outlook and Exchange 2010 CAS Server

Ok so a bit of an issue here.  I have Exchange 2010 SP2 installed on 2 servers (CAS/HT and a Mailbox).  Recently, a patch released hosed my CAS/HT server to the point that I can't patch it anymore and the Exchange program isn't even listed in the 'Add/Remove Programs' list.  I can't repair, uninstall or anything.  The server still works though.. it handles all of the connections and relays correctly, but it is unstable and needs to be fixed.  So, I decided to build a second CAS/HT server.  I did that and mimicked all of the settings.  Well, at this point, I can't get any of my Outlook clients to connect to the new CAS/HT server.  They all still resolve to my broken server.  How can I force my Outlook clients to switch to my new CAS/HT server for the time being while I fix my old one?  I have thought about doing an ADSI edit and removing my old one that way, but I am not sure how that would affect my Exchange environment.  Any help is appreciated.

Cross Forest Migration - Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010

Hi all,

Can somoeone tell me if it is a requirement to have at least one instance of Exchange 2010 installed into what is an Exchange 2003 forest to allow for a cross forest migration to an all Exchange 2010 forest. My understanding is that it is and that the MRSProxy service is used on each to allow for proxy of new-moverequests to Exchange 2003 mailboxes.

Any advice appreciated.

Exch2k3 migration to Exch2k10, outgoing OK, incoming stuck in Exch2k3 'Unreachable Destination' queue

I am simply just transferring over one user for the purposes of testing and mail flow testing.  Outgoing is OK on the Exch2k10 server, but all incoming emails to the user gets caught in the 'Messges with an Unreachable Destination' queue on the Exch2k3 server.  The installation was seamless, I installed SP2 then RU4.  Confirmed Client and Default settings were right, then create the Internet send connector....then moved over the user.  Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi

Our Exchange 2010 SP1 with Rollup 2 works fine but one of our info stores will not mount - short of rebooting the server I have tried everything else such as checking the database integrity (all healthy) - see the below error

Setup a Public Folder Replica with a huge amount of subfolders

How can I setup a Public Folder Replica within Exchange 2010 with a huge amount of folders and subfolders?

The replica's need to run on only Exchange 2010 SP1 servers.

I started with setting up a replica of an existing PF but only the root folders are replicated. I need to setup the replica server for every subfolder I found.
There must be an easy way to setup a replica with all subfolders setup correctly?

Exchange 2007 to 2010 coexistance - ramping up with a temporary back end server

$

A company wants to upgrade their environment to exchange 2010. They have an existing 2007 environment.

They have ESX vmware platform and want to go ahead and build out two front end CAS/HUB servers and a temporary backend mailbox server.

Their requirement is that their production mailboxes be moved (migrated) to a hardware 2 server DAG solution, but they are not ready to purchase hardware until 1st quarter 2013.

So, the proposed solution is to build out 2 FE's and 1 backend mailbox server in vmware now and get coexistance running , confirmed, tested, test moving mailboxes, mailflow, etc.

Once that is complete and they purchase the two mailbox servers, we'll add them in, create the DAG, and then remove the temporary mailbox server.

Do you see any flaws with this, or something I'm not aware of?

I know I'll need to move the OAB generating role to one of the new DAG members from the temporary mbx server befiore I decommission it. Anything else that would need to be done or that would impact the environment?

thanks!

Josh

Exchange 2003 -> 2010 Public Folder Replication not working

$

My setup is an Exchange Server 2003 on Server 2003 Active Directory.  I'm aiming for a period of coexistence with eventual removal of the Ex2003.  I was working through the Exchange Deployment Assistant over the weekend and I got to the part about Public Folders.  The claim is that you can just run Public Folder Management Console on the Ex2010 machine, but my Default Public Folders is always empty.  Also, the shell command "get-publicfolder -recurse | fl name, replicas" always returns an empty tree.

Here's where it gets strange.  From my Ex2003 machine, I can run the System Manager tool and individually set Replication to the Ex2010 machine on any of several folders in my Public Folders tree.  On some, it will say the Ex2010 copy is "Local Modified", others it will say "In Sync".

But none of this shows up when I actually get on the Ex2010 box.  I am completely missing the hierarchy.  On top of that, there are no errors left in the event logs that I can see.  So I have no idea why my Ex2010 machine has not received a copy of the hierarchy.

I have configured offline address book and schedule free/busy replication, and those show up in the Public Folder Management Console just fine.

It's like the Deployment Agent has missed a step somewhere.  Something super obvious.  I've gone through many pages of technet posts and forum posts and google searches, but I've still not been able to find anything to solve this.

Thanks for any help,

Add Safe Senders' Domains to Exchange 2010

$

I did a search on this and could not find an answer.

We have emails getting bounced by the content filter in Exchange 2010, and some of those emails are from vendors.  When I say bounced, they are getting rejected and returned to sender by Exchange Server 2010, not just ending up in the Junk Mail folder.  I would like to add their domains to a safe sender list, so the content filter does not bounce them.

Thanks!

How to install Exchange 2010 Edge AFTER TMG ?

$

Hi,

I'm trying to install the Exchange 2010 Edge role onto a TMG server.

I'm getting the usual "There was a problem accessing the registry on this computer." during the process.

Network settings and services have been checked.

TMG is supposed to be installed after Exchange but I cannot believe that it cannot be done the other way around.

I guess that the fix is to disable TMG during the Exchange install but just stopping the services did not help.

Any idea?

Move emails from archive back to mailbox ?

Hi,

Hi,

Exchange 2010 SP1, users have mailbox on one datastore, archive on another. Now we found issue that archived emails are not displayed in Outlook but only in OWA.

Seems there is licensing problem on our Outlook, now question is how we move emails from archive back to users mailbox ?

Thanks.,

EWS Authentication - OOF Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable

$

I have an issue with OOF since migrating from SBS2003 to SBS2011.

The public DNS of the mail system is mail.company.com

the internal DNS name is SRV1.company1.local

The external & internal address for OOF is https://mail.company.com/EWS/exchange.asmx

Every time I run Out Of Office agent on outlook on an Internal client I get "Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable"

I have created a DNS zone for company.com internally and created a host record for mail.

If I browse to https://mail.company.com/EWS/exchange.asmx on any domain joined machine using IE I get prompted for credentials, If I log in the XML is displayed fine, If it browse to the URL from the server I am not asked to authenticate and it works fine, If a user uses OWA it works fine, If a user connects externally using Outlook Anywhere it works fine.

I have Anonymous, Basic & Windows Authentication enabled.

My question is this, should browsing to the URL using IE prompt for credentials?, Is the problem being caused by an authentication issue because the domain name is different to that of the client using windows auth?

Has anyone got any tips/steps on how to troubleshoot this issue?

There is nothing in the event log on the client, the server or IE logs

I have tried disabling & enabling different authentication methods with no luck

I cannot change the internal URL of EWS to server1.company.local as that name is not included in the certificate plus I wish to use the external name.

Thanks

TCP Connectivity with Autodiscover - Address Book failure (ABREF

I have done some internet searching but seems I can not get something concrete. I have 3 CAS servers, only on one of them I keep on getting error message. I have tried the script on the servers, only one of them I get the error message. If I ran the script"Test-OutlookConnectivity -Protocol:Tcp" I get an error message, but if I ran the script  "Test-OutlookConnectivity -Protocol:Http" it passes the test. I have restarted all the services, restarted IIS but still I cannot get the issue solved. We also have HLB. So where I can I figure out where I can solve this issue. Exchange 2010 SP2 RU4v2.

I have seen this links as well, but does not help

one internal owa url for multiple sites

$
0
0

There have 2 AD sites in 2 different locations, each with own mailbox and cas server. We have split dns implemented. Site A is internet facing and there is TMG that publishes owa externally (https://owa.ourdomain/owa).

We want that users in all sites use the same owa site internally: https://mail.ourdomain/owa

We have configured URls in the following way:

CASSite A:

InternalURL: https://mail.ourdomain/owa

ExternalURL: https://owa.ourdomain/owa

CAS Site B:

InternalURL: https://mail.ourdomain/owa

ExternalURL: $null

There are 2 mail.ourdomain A records and are both directing for CAS in Site A and Site B. There is netmask ordering configured on DNS servers, so mail.ourdomain is resolved to CAS A in Site A, and CAS B in Site B.

From Site A accessing mailboxes on both sites works correctly. From Site B accessing mailboxes located on mbx server in site B is OK, but accessing mailbox in Site A is impossible (use the following link for best performance: https://owa.ourdomain/owa). I understand that is because of ExternalURL is configured in Site B.

1. Is there a way to get proxying working instead of redirecting?

2. i tried adding a record owa.ourdomain to internal dns to point to cas in site A, but this workaround is not working (i think i should mess with iis bindings) - but will this config be supported?

Any ideas how to fix this this setup?
