'There is currently no route to the mailbox database' on Exch2k10 server

Installed a new Exchk2k10 server, while still using and migrating away from our Exch2k3 server.  I manually created the SMTP connector on the Exch2k3 server and mail was routing properly between the two servers.  Now, since I ran the RU4v2 update, mail from the Exch2k10 user mailboxes get stuck in the 'Destination Unreachable' queue on Exch2k10 but outgoing externally works fine, and users on Exch2k3 continue to send outoing emails properly, even to the Exch2k10 mailboxes.  Any ideas would be helpful.  Config info is below:

Internet send connector has been configured with basic settings (smtp * localhost as sourceserver)

Default receive connector allowing anonymous users

Exch2k3 server has a smtp connector with the new Exck2k10 server applied as the bridgehead server

Need help with Powershell command - Exchange 2010

I need to get a list of email addresses within my organization that includes the users' lastname and firstname (along with SMTP address).  I also need it sorted by lastname then exported to CSV. 

After much googling, I've been getting close but not what is needed.

Connecting to remote server failed - WinRM client cannot complete the operation within the time specified

Exchange 2010 SP2 Active DAG Node.  Cannot cannot to Exchange Admin Console with the following errors and these errors change from time to time ... and some times it works ...

attempt to connect to http://DAGNODE.domain.com/powershell using "kerberos" authentication failed: connecting to remote server failed with the following message: The WinRM Client cannot complete the operation within the time specified. Check if the machine name is valid and is reachable over the network and firewall exception for windows remote management service is enabled.

troubleshooting connection problems from within exchange 2010

Hello,

I have three linux-based mail routers that run postfix and relay mail to our on-premise exchange server as well as to outlook.com, splitting the mail based on ldap atttributes.  What I've observed sporadically since upgrading this spring from Exchange 2007 to 2010 is that all three of the mail relays will, for about 20 minutes, fail to connect to exchange.

Postfix logs it as "lost connection with exchange.clarku.edu" ; this problem almost always occurs to all three mail relays at the same time, and lasts for slightly under 20 minutes.  If I can catch it while it's occuring, and I manually do "telnet exchange.contosso.edu 25" from one mail relay and force a message through (helo, mail from, rcpt to, data, etc), then it clears that relay up.

I've worked pretty hard to figure out what's happening from the postfix side and I can't see any evidence of any misbehavior.  My question is, how do I attack the problem from the exchange side?  Is there a connection log, or a debug setting, or something I can do to log all of the inbound connections and tell me what's causing exchange to drop them?

DAG: 2 Witness servers?

Hi-

Is it possible to setup/add another Witness server for providing resilicency to the "non-primary" Exch Server/node when there is a Failover/heartbeat lost when our WAN fails?

We have 2 Exchange Servers - "each" server is in a seperate site using DAG across a WAN.

Yes - we know this is not recommended.

If we have 1 - Witness server in the remote location - can we add another Witness server to our local site?

Reason:

When the WAN fails - our Exchange server does not function.

And our mailbox DB will then failover to the other Exch Server when the WAN reconnects.

We have to sync/reseed our mailbox and then activate it so it becomes the "active" copy again.

Is there a way to avoid this scenario?

Without buying another exchange Server?

We've also tried increasing the heartbeat - does that max at 2 min?

Our WAN has been down much longer.

Delegate not being notified when booking a room

Hi all.

Can anyone help me out.

When a user creates a new meeting room request it fails to notify the delegate mailbox, even though the forward meeting requests to delegates is ticked.

I've got this setup so that anyone within the company can book in-policy-requests, and the auto attendant books the room chosen. But i need the receptionist to be notified as to who and when the rooms are getting booked rather than constantly going into the calender and checking.

EMC and Exchange Powershell - Access Denied error

Hello,

So all of a sudden on one of our 2 exchange servers we are now getting Access Denied when attempting to connect to EMC or when we fire up PowerShell.

I'll give a little overview of our environment setup

PINVXS101, PINVXS102 & RINVXS101 are our exchange servers hosting the databases

PINVXC101, PINVXC102 & RINVXC101 are our exchange CAS servers

EMC functions on all servers except PINVXS101 now for some reason

That's the error from PINVXS101.  I'm not sure why it's getting the remote server failed connection from the DR server RINVXS101.  Should it be connecting to itself?

I've tried everything i've come across.  Checking IIS configuration, SSL settings, authentication module, winrm config, iisresets and still no go.  I've read about time sync issues recently.  All servers sync time from same place.  Most threads and stuff i've read point to errors/warnings in the event viewer.  Our eventviewer is clean of any errors/warnings.  All informational.

i cna't be 100% certain but i believe the error has changed slightly since we first experienced.  I could've sworn it referrenced kerb authentication issues but now it just says access denied.

i've tried some recommendations from a david strome about running windows powershell to get-credentials and attempt to launch the exchange-2010 module but it gives the same error.

any ideas?

'Passed URI is not valid' when running Set-FederatedOrganizationIdentifier

We have an Exchange 2010 environment. I have successfully created a federation trust with the Microsoft Federation Gateway. I have created the txt records for the federated delegation (exchangedelegation.mydomain.com and mydomain.com).

The certificate has been distributed successfully to all of the Exchange 2010 servers.

In the Manage Federation wizard on the Manage Federated Domains screen, I add exchangedelegation.mydomain.com and mydomain.com and set exchangedelegation.mydomain.com as the account namespace. After entering my email address as the organization contact I click next.

When I click Manage at last step, I get the error: InvalidUri InvalidUri: Passed URI is not valid.

Unable to get rid of Mailbox Full

Yesterday I migrated the first mailbox (my own) from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010.

I was not aware that mailbox quota is now a database property, and my mailbox is 255MB above default limit. So I got a Mailbox Full warning after restarting my Outlook 2010 client, fair enough.

First thing I did was raising the limits on the database - same warning. Next thing was removing all quota from my account, still no luck.

Since yesterday I have unmounted and mounted the database, restarted all client access and mailbox servers (2 members of a DAG), migrated my mailbox back to 2007, migrated again to 2010, rebooted my client PC. Next must be something with chicken blood.

When I start my Outlook 2010 i get "Mailbox Full - Your mailbox is full, you may not be able to send or receive mail". Fact is that I can still send and receive.

When I open new mail there is a warning that "Your mailbox will be full after sending this email message. You may not be able to send messages until you remove items from the mailbox." Despite this  the mail and the next one is sending fine.

This is very annoying, what can I do to make my quota changes for database and/or mailbox apply?

Set up Distribution Group mailbox view in Outlook 2010 (Exchange 2010 backend)

We are running Exchange 2010 and our clients are running Outlook 2010, and we are looking for a way for end users to be able to add Distribution Group mailboxes to their view in Outlook.  When we go to add the group as one would for a single user mailbox (Account Settings--Change--More Settings--Advanced--Add) and attempt to add any Distribution Group, we receive the error "The name cannot be resolved.  The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list".  The Distribution Groups show up in the GAL with no issue, we're just unable to add them.  

Any advice/suggestions appreciated!

Hola, tengo una consulta sobre Exchange 2010 y virtualizacion sobre Red Hat Enteprise 3.0. Primeramente me gustaria tener acceso a documentacion de referencia sobre esta plataforma y como interactua con Exchange 2010.

La consulta de fondo es, Microsoft da soporte sobre discos expandibles montados sobre Red Hat Enterprise 3.0?. es decir, si tengo un servidor de X GB de disco, y luego esto quiere ser expandido a XX GB, es esto soportado por Microsoft?.

Duplicate Server Name in DAG Database Management

Finished configuring the DAG. Under Org Config>Mailbox>DB
Management a certain server name shows up twice in the list of servers
that has a particular DB. This is happening for 2 DBs. Here are the
results:

How to cycle through multiple email addresses for ruled based email redirection?

Is there any method of automating email redirection from one exchange account to multiple other accounts. Each email that arrives is to be redirected to one of a set list of accounts. If 4 users are set up for redirecting, the emails received should cycle chronologically through the 4 users. 10:10a->U1, 10:11a->U2, 10:30a->U3...

Please advise how to execute this or if there is an alternative method.

Self reset password in Exchange 2010

Hi All,

Is there anyway to set a self reset password feature on Exchange 2010? I have set up with the Change password feature on outlook web, yet the users are still finding difficulty and keep forgetting the password. I think it is wasting the resources in the corporate level user password managing.

1) So is there anyway to reset the password to the phone or to another colleague's email?

There will be the reset password or forgot password button, if the user clicks, it will ask for the username and email or phone number to send the random password to. Then users can proceed with the changing. Something like that...

2) For my current reset page, it uses the information to reset like:

Domain\Username -

Password -

New password -

Confirm password -

Mostly, the users face the problem with forgetting to put the domain name and backlash. Then they just simply ask IT to reset the password for them. So for the problem 2), is there a way to separate or remove the domain and set it default so that the users do not need to type in, then just typing the username will be enough to change the password?

Could that be possible?

Cannot receive email with attachment of more than 10MB

Our general settings for transport rule for maximum email size is set to 10MB for general users (2000 users). We have special users (20 users) that are allowed to send & receive with a max of 50MB. I've adjusted the mail size restrictions in the mailboxes of the special users to 50MB. I also adjusted the MaxSendSize and MaxReceiveSize of the Edge server to 50MB. Special users were able send email internally and externally with attachments max 50MB, however, it fails when receiving external email. We dont have problems with our firewalls because we did not set any attachment limits. Not sure where the problem is. Please help...

Clients are unbale to download OAB...Exchange 2010 SP1

Dear All,

Recently we have installed exchange 2010 SP1 in our organization. Right now all mailboxes are in exchange 2003 servers. We have moved 10 mailboxes to exchange 2010 servers.

Now the issue is that those ten users are unable to download OAB. They are getting error “Operation is failed” after some time. All client users are on outlook 2007 and 2010.

We have checked each and everything at our end, every setting is fine. Mailbox server is generating the OAB and CAS server having the copy in right place. Only users are unable to pick this from CAS server.

We run Get-OfflineAddressBook command in exchange powershell, it’s showing wrong Originating Server.

We have single forest (Domain:- test.com, Child Domain:- corp.test.com) scenario.

In all OAB, its pointing to child domain in originating server. I think issue is come from that but unable to solve this.

If I am point the exchange 2010 mailbox server to pick the OAB from 2K3 server, its working fine.
